Remembering the life of the artist's father, Heinz Müller Weinberg/Henry M. Walton, who escaped Germany in 1935, and whose life was committed to his family, philosophy, and science. Incorporates the original fired ceramic
"Self Portrait in a Time of Grief", along with replicas of Dr. Walton's documents and photographs, and artifacts representing his memories and passions - and the role of chance in personal history.
Five small cubes, which may be handled by the viewer, bear replicated images and fragments of documents from his pre- and post-war family, and his vocational and avocational interests.
Signed with artist's seal on right-hand surface of the box. Lid is fixed and supported in open position, and box is ballasted for stability. Display in indirect light is recommended.
